Eternal Defiance
2026
Eternal Defiance represents democracy rising from the ocean to combat the rise of the oligarchy. She stands, her robes breathing the salt air as the deep water remember the desire for equality for all her people. She stands where oceans remember, her robes breathing in the salt of centuries. She arises, not kneeling to the dark, to take action. Rays from her crown pierce thought like a thunderclap, as her dream dares to outline fear.
Four photographs were digitally cut, blended, warped, and painted including a photograph of The Statue of Liberty facsimile, an ocean and sky from Hawaii and a NASA representation of an asteroid hitting the sun. This work is digitally cut, blended, warped, painted, and transformed photography using Photoshop. The work is finalized as an archival 14” x 19” print and rematerialized into physical space.
